With the XK, I can do organ and bass lines, which can get me through any of our tunes if needed. Yeah, both of these could have been prevented, but neither are likely with hardware. My system is pretty stable, but has crashed a few times onstage, once using an untested VST, once because the power supply to the laptop got unplugged, and the battery completely died after about a set and a half. My only problems with the laptop setup were the startup/load time, it's about 5 minutes at best from starting the computer to be playing, including loading all the samples from an external disc, and the hovering threat of a crash. My band is pretty organ-centric, and I wanted to have at least one instrument not dependent on the laptop. The main difference is that I recently added a Hammond XK-1 to the setup. Sounds like we're running almost exactly the same VST's. I use a FW410, Forte as a host, and my controllers are an M-Audio Keystation 88 and an Axiom 61. If you want to use your Iconica library with HALion 6 or HALion Sonic 3, please make sure that the corresponding license is available on your system, too.Davinwv, we have similar setups. The Iconica license includes a license for HALion Sonic SE 3. Please remember that Iconica sound libraries can only be used with a valid license.
